A cancer diagnosis is a life altering experience that creates uncertainties and dilemmas. These challenges affect both patients and other members of their families. However, the existing literature focuses almost exclusively on how patients and spouses communicate following a cancer diagnosis, which ignores the perspectives and experiences of other family members.
